I spent my early 20s figuring out what to do with my life, pursuing numerous jobs but not finding my passion. When real estate knocked on my door, I discovered within myself a drive, perseverance, and motivation that has since brought unexpected blessings.
Leaving the familiar to embrace new opportunities can be daunting, but with discernment and trust in your choices, success often follows. My journey exemplifies this belief.
I hail from Houston, Texas, and began my career studying accounting. However, staring at spreadsheets all day wasn’t my calling, so I shifted my focus to general business. After graduating, I entered the restaurant industry as a manager, enduring grueling 60-hour workweeks. While the experience instilled a strong work ethic, I still felt unfulfilled.
In an attempt to find my niche, I dabbled in multilevel marketing but struggled to achieve meaningful results. Admittedly, I felt adrift, searching for direction. To make ends meet, I took a position as a receptionist at a hair salon—a humbling experience that required me to set aside my ego. What I didn’t anticipate was that this role would lead me to my wife, Lisa, who worked there as a hairstylist.
Although I had found love, I remained uncertain about my professional future, particularly given the challenging job market at the time in 2008. I decided to apply for the Navy and was accepted. Yet, on the day I was meant to sign my enlistment papers, my brother called with news of a job interview at his company. I deferred my Navy plans to attend the interview. Though I didn’t secure the position, the experience illuminated that the Navy wasn’t my path forward. Instead, I decided to pursue a career in sales—a field that had always resonated with me.
I spent three years as a Sales Manager in the steel industry. However, the financial crisis severely impacted the oil and gas sector, leaving my company in turmoil. With layoffs imminent and pay cuts unavoidable, I faced another crossroads. Around this time, my sister, a real estate agent in Dallas, Texas, encouraged me to join her team. Transitioning from a stable paycheck to the uncertainties of commission-based income was a significant risk, but I’ve always trusted my instincts. I earned my real estate license in 2010, just before being laid off.
My family and I relocated to North Texas to embark on this new chapter. My eldest son, Tyler, had to adjust to a new high school in his senior year, while my younger son, Ethan, transitioned to a new middle school. It was a substantial change for all of us, but ultimately, it was the right decision. Real estate resonated with me immediately. I relished the opportunity to continuously learn, refine my skills, and demonstrate to clients the value I could provide. Few experiences are as rewarding as helping clients navigate one of life’s most important decisions.
After three years working alongside my sister, I was offered a leadership position at Keller Williams, which brought my family to California. There, I mentored approximately 100 agents, fostering their confidence and expertise—a profoundly fulfilling chapter of my career.
Today, my family and I happily settled in California. Lisa and I are celebrating 29 years of marriage, and our sons are thriving—Ethan is excelling in college, and Tyler is a dedicated bodybuilder. Fitness and nutrition play a significant role in my life; they keep me focused and energized, so you’ll often find me at the gym. Outside of work, I cherish time spent with my family on our boat, playing golf at Shadowridge Country Club, or traveling to new destinations.
I feel deeply grateful that the work I love affords me the opportunity to create these meaningful experiences with my family. Looking back, every leap outside my comfort zone has brought tremendous rewards. I firmly believe that by taking the first step, crafting a plan, and committing to consistent effort, anything is achievable.
When I work with a client, my first priority is understanding how they like to communicate. Whether it’s by phone, text, or email, I make sure they’re informed and confident every step of the way. I believe transparency is essential—there are no surprises with me, just clear guidance so you always know what’s ahead.
With over 15 years of experience in real estate, I’ve developed strong negotiation skills that help move transactions forward while protecting my clients’ best interests. I stay up to date with ongoing education to ensure I’m always equipped with the latest strategies and insights.
For sellers, my 15-member team takes a proactive approach. Instead of simply listing a property and waiting, we actively reach out to potential buyers, and we prospect heavily to generate interest and accelerate the sale.
But what truly sets me apart is the relationships I build. Many of my clients become lifelong friends because I genuinely care about their success and happiness. Whether you’re buying or selling, I’m here to make the process smooth, rewarding, and tailored to your unique goals.
Sincerely,
Wade Blair
